There have been recent reports that the era of the desktop PCs are coming to an end and they are going to be replaced by powerful notebook PCs in the near future. Again, because of the many myths about these devices scattered all over the Internet, they are starting to make people believe that this is true. But the fact is, once you compare these two computing devices head to head, you will see a big difference between desktop PCs and laptops.

The main and probably the sole advantage of having a laptop is portability. This means, you can carry your computer wherever you go and you can access everything you need wherever you are, whenever you want to.

Desktops PCs on the other hand, being all bulky and that, has seemingly lost its charm to people who rely on the Internet for information. But the truth of the matter is, desktop PCs still prove to be more advantageous in many ways.

First, desktop PCs can be perpetually upgraded. You can put additional RAM or additional storage space whenever you want to as opposed to a laptop wherein you need to buy an external storage device to make this happen.

Another advantage of desktop PCs over laptops is that you can improve the performance of your desktop by upgrading some parts like the video card and processors as compared to a laptop wherein you need to purchase a new model when you want your computer to be faster.
